Open for business!

In our last post from early June we said we were "Almost there!" We had just moved into our roasting facility. Over the next three months, we were busy with additional facilities improvements and equipment installation, all while getting up to speed on the new roaster and servicing my existing local face-to-face customers.

Finally, early this month, our facility was inspected and approved by the State of Iowa. Yay! It was a huge relief. Within two weeks we had product on shelves at two local retail locations, and just this morning I turned on the online store here at the website. Very exciting stuff!

In the coming weeks I'll be roasting up samples and visiting coffee shops in the Central & Eastern Iowa region, looking for some new folks to partner with who want to serve awesome coffee. We're also working on a new product idea that involves a Direct Trade relationship, and I'm very excited about that tone. That will take a few months to flesh out, so stay tuned!

The past three months have been an incredible learning experience. I'm learning the craft of coffee roasting at the same time I'm learning how to start and run a small business. It's heavy stuff, but very enjoyable for me, all around. Thanks to everyone who's supported and encouraged along the way.
